Colorado is now the 5th fastest growing state in the
nation. The Fort Collins-Loveland and surrounding area is the 9th fastest growing MSA
in the nation. This same area boasts the 4th strongest economy in the
U.S. The job and employment market is also good being the second
largest in Colorado.
Much of the employment is due to the hundreds of
small service and tech companies located here. The large companies and
the university lead the large employers. Some of the more recognizable
names are Avago, HP, Kodak, Intel, AMD and Budweiser.
Fort Collins has a population estimated at 137,000
as of 2005. These people live in a 50 square mile area in 55,623
housing units. Residents here are highly educated with 48.5 percent
having completed four years or more of college.
Within seven miles of Fort Collins are 177,000
people and within 10 miles there are 240,000. The Fort Collins and
Loveland areas are an economic hub for a four state area including
Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and of course Northern Colorado.
More and more Loveland and Fort Collins are
becoming one shopping and economic areas with residents of both cities
moving back and forth with ease. |
